Greg Gipson is managing director and head of ETFs at CIBC Global Asset Management, leveraging a deep expertise in ETF-based portfolio construction and systematic investment strategies to advance the organization’s global ETF business. Gipson has 27 years of investment management industry experience. Prior to CIBC Global Asset Management, he ran his own consultancy where he partnered with entrepreneurs and family offices. Previously, he spent five years as the chief investment officer for Outsourced Chief Investment Office. He also spent more than eight years within the asset management arm of another large Canadian bank, building its global equity investment capabilities and a systematic approach to fund of ETFs and funds. Gipson started his career following graduate school as a portfolio manager and investment strategist in the U.S. and Japanese equity markets for a large U.S.-based institutional investor. He holds an undergraduate degree in economics and a dual Master’s of Science in Engineering Economic Systems and Operations Research from Stanford University. He is currently working on a Master’s of Science in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Texas at Austin.
